Safety in the Gym

Safety Rules

Safety in the gym is our highest priority.  Our facilities include the most modern climbing walls and safety equipment, following the EU guidelines.

The safest climbing is the climbing practiced correctly. All our staff is trained appropriately, please follow their guidelines.

Bouldering

1
While walking on the mattresses, be aware of climbers on the wall. Give more than enough space for them to land safely.
2
While climbing, please use only the walls and the holds. Do not use the screw holes or any other structure.
3
When you top a route, avoid jumping down, try to downclimb with the grey jugs a few meters to give yourself a smoother landing.
4
When you finish a route, before jumping down, look down and make sure your landing is clear.
5
When jumping down dont stay straight. Bend your knees and if necessary roll over with your whole body to give yourself a smoother landing.
6
Be sure not to wear any jewellery or watches while climbing.

Rope Climbing

1
Safety in rope safety is very important. You must do it properly for everyone's safety. If you don't feel sure about your skills or you don't know how to rope climb, we offer belay classes for everyone.
2
Belaying is an important task, doing it properly ensures the safety of the climbing on the wall. Do not distract or chat with people that are belaying.
3
If you are a belayer always check if the climber has a correct knot on the harness. If you are a climber, always check that the rope passes through the belaying device correctly and that the belaying device is attached to the harness safely.
4
Constant communication between the belayer and the climber mitigates risk. Communcate your intentions as a climber and as a belayer constantly.
5
Giving advice regarding safety procedures on the rope wall is not welcome. If you see someone at risk or not following the safety guidelines contact the front desk immediately.
If you feel unsafe or uncomfortable, for any reason, during your stay in the gym, please contact the front desk as soon as possible.

Mind the others

1
People are expected to take turns on the climbing wall. Make sure you’re not cutting in front of someone else. If you fall off, let someone else have a go while you rest.
2
When you start a problem, make sure you will not interfere with anyone who is already on the wall. This is a common oversight. Not all problems go straight up.
3
In the bouldering area only liquid chalk is allowed. Dust in a closed environment is uncomfortable and unhealthy for everyone.
4
Helping someone climb a route is a nice way to interact with other climbers. But some people enjoy solving a climbing problem by themselves without external help. Before sharing the way you climbed a route, ask the person if they want your help.
